PREMILLENNIAL IN HOPE

  • The Bible predicts a yet future time of tribulation for the unbelieving peoples of the earth.

  • The Bible also predicts that those who are alive at that time and have trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as their savior will be taken off the earth and into the presence of the Lord before that time known as the Tribulation period begins.

  • Our eschatology remains fixed as to our Lord's return to Earth with His saints prior to establishing a literal 1,000 year reign of righteousness on earth.

  • We also are pretribulational, believing that our Lord will catch us up to be with Him before the tribulation on earth begins.

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
“For men shall be . . . unthankful . . .”
- II Timothy 3:1-2

“In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
- I Thessalonians 5:18

November is a month commemorated by the giving of thanks. It is not just for a day, or for the month, but rather, to be characterized by all we who are born again through faith alone in Christ . . .all the time. It cannot happen in the flesh: it must come only through being yielded to the Holy Spirit. We live in the last days before the Lord’s return. It seems that everywhere you look there is unthankfulness and ungratefulness. What a tragedy and mockery to the command of the Word of God to all who profess salvation.

After our salvation in Christ there is much to be thankful for: 1) the Lord’s faithfulness - to His name; to His inspired, infallible, inerrant and preserved Word; and to us, His children in Christ. Jeremiah wrote, “Great is thy faithfulness.” 2) the fellowship in Christ we enjoy when obedient to His Word, and to each other. Most all of us who are saved have a genuine, greater, sweeter, and eternal fellowship with our Brothers and Sisters in Christ, than with our biological relatives. 3) the friendships and love for the brethren we are so privileged to enjoy with each other. The hymn writer exhorted us to “Count your many blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.”

Thanks to the Lord we have another day - to be saved or if saved, to serve and obey Him; and to live for Him in all that we do. Thanks to the Lord we live in a free country still, to be able to meet together, pray together, study and worship together without persecution, and live out our faith before others. We are thankful for every opportunity we have to present the truths of the Word of God, and the Gospel of Christ that souls may be saved. Let us “as a mighty army” go forth together being thankful in all things. Amen?
