RESURRECTION TRAGEDYWe began this section of our website not long after the site was developed. Its purpose was, to be upfront with any who would read the articles. That purpose has not changed as you will readily see. This article may bring out the political police – just as centuries before when believers took stands for the Word of God, and it cost them dearly. It may bring out the ‘judge not’ mob – who ignore so many passages of scripture that the ‘bible’ they use must be a slimmed-down version. In our community of churches, an ad appeared for an ‘interdenominational, multicultural’ charismatic church. It referred to the Easter worship services. In this “Resurrection Celebration,” there was a schedule for the morning. I make reference to only one part: “7:30 am – Communion Mass with Pastor __________.” The horrific-ness of that statement cannot go without challenge. The apostasy of the church and individual cannot go without exposure. Surely, the largeness of the congregation has within it people of spiritual backbone and integrity; people acquainted with church history, especially the Inquisition periods; people with knowledge that born again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ were quartered, drowned, driven through with knives, swords, spears, dragged by horses and dismembered by being attached to horses going in different directions, burned at the stake, and a host of other cruel tortures – Because they would not sign and recant their salvation by faith alone in Christ, In favor of the lies of the mass and the confessional! I’m aware it could be a spiritual ‘jock’ that thought this was cute and inviting and meant no harm. Giving him the benefit of the doubt doesn’t lessen the fact that he should be removed from the church immediately. And if it is his belief that was printed there was valid, then he should leave and apply to that false religion immediately (though he would not be accepted, for he is a married man). The congregation has two options: do something or do nothing. If nothing is done and they stay in the church, then there are as guilty of heresy and blasphemy as the leadership. They are partakers of their sins. If they do something, they’ll probably not be able to remove the ‘family,’ and thus they should seek out a church that is true to the Word of God. Here are a few passages to reinforce their courage: “Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause division and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned, and avoid them.” –Romans 16:17 “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness? Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate…” - II Cor.6:14,17 One can hold to any doctrine they want to. That is not an issue here. What is, however, is that whatever doctrine you hold to must be tested by the Word of God, not by the ecumenical movement or the dead-church movement. The observance of the mass is as false today as it was the day it was contrived by man. Without the shedding of blood, Hebrews 9:22, tells us, “is no remission.” The unbloody, unscriptural, and useless participation of this man-made tradition makes the Word of God, “of none effect.” (Mark 7:13). Even the giving of credibility to the mass is absolute treason to Christ and His Word. For the sake of the Lord Jesus Christ, for the sake of the purity and holiness of His Word – do not be silent on this issue. The people who stand for nothing, the saying goes, will fall for anything. Time will certainly tell concerning this. You have to be on one side or the other. Neutrality is impossible. |

“And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.” - Ezekiel 33:31 There is much in all of life that is not what it appears to be. On the surface, one could conclude it to be so. But, going deeper reveals something else altogether: sometimes sinister, sometimes deadly, or sometimes perverted– but always deceptive. James 1:22, says, “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own souls.” It is incredible how much effort we put into being deceived by others when ultimately the deception comes from within ourselves. Let’s cite some examples, though these are not the sum total of all that goes on in life. We are interested in buying or renting a house. We drive up and look at it from the outside, and check it over a second time. It is to our liking by what we see. Then we go inside and inspect the rooms, the flooring, the appliances, the a/c and heat. Our entire time of inspecting however, is on the basis of the outside only. We go ahead and get the house, and slowly and surely discover major and expensive problems that were there had we checked. The house was not what it appeared to be. The same is true with things, or groups, or churches, or people. We can, and should try to check out as much as we can about those we become involved with, but even then we do not know the extent of everything. There is an element of trust involved, yet we must always remember Jeremiah 17:9, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” The LORD knows the hearts of all people, but we do not know the extent of what our hearts are capable of. The examples of this are so numerous, we could take years citing them all, and by then, there would be a whole new list. May this serve as a warning to each of us: things and people may not be what or who they appear to be. Impulsive action on our part, based on primarily the external, can injure or cause us to compromise or worse, destroy our testimonies for Christ. |
