RESURRECTION TRAGEDY

We began this section of our website not long after the site was developed. Its purpose was, to be upfront with any who would read the articles. That purpose has not changed as you will readily see. This article may bring out the political police – just as centuries before when believers took stands for the Word of God, and it cost them dearly. It may bring out the ‘judge not’ mob – who ignore so many passages of scripture that the ‘bible’ they use must be a slimmed-down version.

In our community of churches, an ad appeared for an ‘interdenominational, multicultural’ charismatic church. It referred to the Easter worship services. In this “Resurrection Celebration,” there was a schedule for the morning. I make reference to only one part: “7:30 am – Communion Mass with Pastor __________.”

The horrific-ness of that statement cannot go without challenge. The apostasy of the church and individual cannot go without exposure. Surely, the largeness of the congregation has within it people of spiritual backbone and integrity; people acquainted with church history, especially the Inquisition periods; people with knowledge that born again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ were quartered, drowned, driven through with knives, swords, spears, dragged by horses and dismembered by being attached to horses going in different directions, burned at the stake, and a host of other cruel tortures – Because they would not sign and recant their salvation by faith alone in Christ,  In favor of the lies of the mass and the confessional!

I’m aware it could be a spiritual ‘jock’ that thought this was cute and inviting and meant no harm. Giving him the benefit of the doubt doesn’t lessen the fact that he should be removed from the church immediately. And if it is his belief that was printed there was valid, then he should leave and apply to that false religion immediately (though he would not be accepted, for he is a married man). The congregation has two options: do something or do nothing. If nothing is done and they stay in the church, then there are as guilty of heresy and blasphemy as the leadership. They are partakers of their sins. If they do something, they’ll probably not be able to remove the ‘family,’ and thus they should seek out a church that is true to the Word of God. Here are a few passages to reinforce their courage:

“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause division and offences contrary to the  doctrine which ye have learned, and avoid them.” –Romans 16:17

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness  with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?  Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate…” - II Cor.6:14,17

One can hold to any doctrine they want to. That is not an issue here. What is, however, is that whatever doctrine you hold to must be tested by the Word of God, not by the ecumenical movement or the dead-church movement. The observance of the mass is as false today as it was the day it was contrived by man. Without the shedding of blood, Hebrews 9:22, tells us, “is no remission.” The unbloody, unscriptural, and useless participation of this man-made tradition makes the Word of God, “of none effect.” (Mark 7:13). Even the giving of credibility to the mass is absolute treason to Christ and His Word.

For the sake of the Lord Jesus Christ, for the sake of the purity and holiness of His Word – do not be silent on this issue. The people who stand for nothing, the saying goes, will fall for anything. Time will certainly tell concerning this. You have to be on one side or the other. Neutrality is impossible.

(For we walk by faith, not by sight:) II Cor.5:7

It was a nightmare flight. The instrument panel glowed in the dark of the cockpit. I was trying to follow a compass course to an unfamiliar airport, and trying to manage the altitude and heading while reading a map with a penlight. I didn’t notice at first when the plane began to bank ever so slightly to the right. Though everything felt normal, the right wing was lower than the left wing. Presently I checked the gauge and saw that the little airplane symbol was banked slightly to the right. I corrected it immediately with some pressure on the control yoke. The indicator swung to level. But now I felt like I had entered a shallow left turn. I double checked the instrument panel and it said that I was level. The sensation of turning left was surprisingly powerful. My instincts declared the gauge was wrong. I had to trust the gauge in spite of how I felt.
There are times when our way appears dark, and sometimes what feels right and what is right disagree. We shine around with our little penlight of personal perspective, feeling that we are on a straight and level course. And then we check the indicators of the Word of God and find that we are slightly off course. But this feels so right! Could the gauge be wrong this time? No, God’s instruments are reliable. We must trust them.
We each have choices to make. We can either trust our feelings or we can trust the instruments the Lord has provided in His Word and local church, and His people, to guide our lives. To trust our feelings is to wander off into the trackless night. To trust our instruments will lead us safely to our destination.
Which will it be for you today: feelings or facts?
